A lawyer by training, Anne-Marie has extensive professional experience with ten years of private practice as a lawyer in Canada and more than 25 years of collaboration with international organizations. In 2019, she again joined the ILO (after 18 years in humanitarian assistance) to act as operational manager of the global program on insurance and protection against accidents at work in which contexts, where national systems are particularly fragile, are prioritized. Anne Marie La Rosa is also a professor of international law.

While the contribution of GSCs to global economic growth and job opportunities is evident, their impact on the living and working conditions and the safety and health of workers raises important concerns. This session will examine innovative means that have been developed to improve working conditions and OSH in global supply chains.
