Dr. Tommi Alanko

Director, Finnish Institute of Occupational Health, Finland

Tommi Alanko is Director of Occupational Safety -unit at Finnish Institute of Occupational Health (FIOH). Previously he was Head of Development at FIOH with main task of leading the Finnish Vision Zero Forum. He is Adjunct Professor at the Tampere University, Finland. He has an MSc (1999) and a PhD (2002) in physics from the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. He is author and co-author of several peer-reviewed articles and popular publications. Vision Zero is a way of thinking that Tommi promotes and applies in his work. Tommi Alanko leads the Global Coalition task group on Introduction to Vision Zero at enterprises and he was the organizer of the first Vision Zero Summit in 2019.
