Mr. Kay Schulte

General Coordinator, Prevention of Work Related Road Accidents, German Road Safety Council (DVR), Germany

Kay Schulte, born 1962, studied road safety education at the Technical University of Berlin, has been employed by the German Road Safety Council since 1993, today General Coordinator Prevention of work related road accidents. Worked on the EU projects HERMES, ECOWILL and the CIECA Road User Education project. He has published numerous articles on changing and updating driver education. He is the author of the international ""Framework for a Curriculum for driver education (FACE15), 2015"".

He leads design and evaluation of Eco Safety trainings, which take place in real road traffic using the coaching method. He has conducted train-the-trainer seminars in 23 states in North America, Europe and Asia.

Currently, he works in development and implementation of international workshops on prevention of work related road accidents in Nigeria and other countries. He is also the author of the practical guide „Safety wherever you go (2019)“ for prevention of work related road accidents.

SYM19 - Worker safety on roadways in the age of automated vehicles

Automated vehicles raise new questions about OSH risks and responsibilities for workers and employers. This symposium will examine emerging issues, in the near future when traffic is partly automated, and in the subsequent era of totally driverless traffic.
