Mrs. Liz Horvath

Manager, Workplace Mental Health, Mental Health Commission of Canada, Canada

Known for her empathy, interpersonal skills, and expertise in health and safety management systems. Liz has been helping organizations for over 25 years to achieve better results by keeping workers healthy, safe, and productive. She currently leads the Workplace Mental Health program at the Mental Health Commission of Canada, where she helps organizations implement workplace mental health strategies that align with the National Standard of Canada on Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace.

Throughout her career, Liz has worked with executives, managers, supervisors, union members and committees to identify key issues and implement practical solutions with measurable impact, and she has dealt successfully with situations and claims involving physical health and safety hazards and psychological stressors through her previous roles. Before joining the MHCC, Liz was the CSA Group lead on the development of the National Standard of Canada on Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace.

SYM3 - Psychosocial factors and developments in mental health at work

This symposium will focus on the prevention of psychosocial risks at work, as well as the challenges of managing mental health in the workplace. Leading examples involving standards, regulations and workplace practices will be highlighted.
