Ms. Shelley Uvanile-Hesch

Ms. Uvanile-Hesch is the CEO of a non-profit organization, Women’s Trucking Federation of Canada, with the mission to bridge barriers, empower women and provide a positive platform for education, mentorship, networking and development within the trucking and transportation industry. She has a demonstrated history of supporting the Transportation/Trucking/Railroad industry as a reputable and respected leader, spokesperson, keynote and professional driver. She is well-versed in the undertaking of several charitable initiatives, community campaigns and public outreach. She is skilled in Management, Speaking, Leadership, Safety & Training. Ms. Uvanile-Hesch has a strong interest in philanthropy, promoting women within the industry and empowering teams and individuals.

Ms. Uvanile-Hesch was inducted into the PMTC Hall of Fame For Professional Drivers 2020. She was awarded the 2020 Woman of Inspiration™ Rural Leader Award and the 2019 Courage Award Nova Scotia Trucking Safety Association (NSTSA).

TS3 - Innovations in tripartite governance of occupational safety and health

The tri-partite model for the governance of OSH policy and regulatory development has been an effective approach to strengthening worker health protection in Canada, and many other countries. This technical session will review global innovations in tripartite governance in support of policy, regulation and standard development. The session will consider opportunities and challenges in the new world of work, and examine how the model has supported a culture of prevention. Panelists will discuss the work of the tri-partite technical committee that developed ILO Convention C190, and the session will include four case studies of tripartite governance experiences in Chile, New Zealand, Singapore and Canada.
